Our Story
Born from real struggle, built to help others.
Swiss Home Finder did not start as a business idea. It started with lived experience.
Moving to Switzerland from abroad turned out to be far more difficult than expected. What looked simple at first turned into months of confusion, frustration, and uncertainty.
The reality of the housing market sets in quickly. Demand is extremely high and available properties rarely come onto the market, often disappearing before newcomers even understand how the process works. The paperwork makes things worse. Many of the documents required to submit an application differ significantly from those used elsewhere or do not exist at all, with little guidance and no flexibility. Viewings often became the breaking point, scheduled on limited days and during working hours, making attendance unrealistic. Remote viewings are rarely accepted.
As a result, many people stay in hotels or Airbnbs far longer than planned, spending much more than expected and often settling for whatever accepts them.
It became clear that this was not an individual failure, but a broken process. The initial team formed naturally around this experience. People who had faced similar struggles when relocating from abroad began helping each other, and word spread quickly through friends, colleagues, and professional contacts.
For almost three years, this support happened informally. As more people reached out, it became clear that the work needed structure. Not to maximize profit, but to cover costs and continue helping sustainably. At the same time, our experience grew. We built direct relationships with real estate agencies and learned how to get things done.
That is how Swiss Home Finder took shape. We exist to close these gaps with empathy, presence, and human connection, so Switzerland can feel like home.
